Bus Eireann is recruiting an Engineering Operative to join the Fleet maintenance team based in our Depot in Dundalk. Join a dedicated team working behind the scenes to keep our buses in excellent condition and ready to serve passengers every morning.

 

This role encompasses the daily maintenance of all Public Service Vehicles operating out of our Dundalk Depot and other Engineering Operative related duties based on business needs.

This role is responsible for:

  • Fueling and recharging buses, and also checking oil/water levels
  • Shunting of vehicles
  • Washing and cleaning buses
  • Minor maintenance work can be carried out where appropriate under direction from the Foreman or Team Leader
  • Maintenance of the Garage area. Cleaning and tidying the depot and garage environment
  • Vehicle and parts deliveries and collections
  • Covering shifts when required
  • Any member of the EO grade will be fully flexible and will undertake any suitable task subject only to their level of competence and taking account of safety considerations.
  • Other duties as outlined by the Foreman or Team Leader.

What we are looking for:

  • Valid Irish D-License (Driving experience not essential but you will be shunting buses)
  • Comfortable with shift work (2 cycles)
  • A team player who is reliable and hard-working
  • Someone with an interest in mechanics or vehicle work. Interested in valeting, fleet preparation and vehicle maintenance.
  • Experience with tools or working with vehicles is a bonus — but not essential
