Media and Communications Manager

 

Reporting to the Senior Manager Corporate Communications this role is responsible for supporting the Senior Manager Corporate Communications in the delivery of Bus Éireann’s corporate communications and reputation management activity.  The role holder will work with a cross section of internal and external stakeholders. This is a new role and its introduction reflects Bus Éireann’s commitment to excellence in corporate communications. The role holder will have responsibility for managing Bus Éireann’s reactive communications with political, media and other local and national stakeholders.

 

This role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced corporate communications professional to build on existing skills in a complex and varied organisation, with the opportunity to rapidly develop leadership working with both internal and external stakeholders. Bus Éireann has a varied stakeholder network reflecting the breadth of operations across Public Service Obligation (four cities, six towns, rural and commuter services), commercial intercity and Schools Transport.

 

The Corporate Communications team is part of Bus Éireann’s Commercial Department and has corporate communications responsibility across all of Bus Éireann activities including commercial, public service obligation, Schools Transport, sustainability and reputation management. The Senior Manager Corporate Communications reports into the Chief Commercial Officer and often works directly with the Chief Executive Officer and other members of the Bus Éireann Senior Leadership Team. The Press and Communications Manager will be the delegate for the Senior Manager Corporate Communications during periods of holiday and other absence.
