Reporting to the Head of Corporate Communications this role is responsible for creating, implementing, and overseeing external communications within Bus Éireann. This role involves developing high-quality content for various platforms, managing media relations, and ensuring media and political obligations are met for Bus Éireann.
This position requires a combination of creativity, strategic thinking, and excellent communication skills to effectively engage stakeholders and promote Bus Éireann’s goals in external communications and policy forums.
We are seeking a talented and proactive Communications Specialist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will lead the charge in crafting and delivering impactful external communications that elevate Bus Éireann’s brand and public profile. You’ll develop high-quality content, manage media relations, and ensure our media and political engagements are expertly handled.
Key Responsibilities:
- Content Creation: Develop and refine compelling communications for political, media, and other stakeholders. Support social media strategies with creative and engaging content.
- Media Relations: Work with internal and external partners to promote stories that drive regular, positive media coverage aligned with our goals.
- Stakeholder Management: Address inbound media and political queries, ensuring timely and accurate responses. Assist with crisis communications when necessary.
- Research & Strategy: Conduct detailed research to inform policy development and position statements, supporting strategic communications initiatives.
- Internal Collaboration: Coordinate with internal teams to design and execute external communications plans, including media outreach, briefings, and award entries.
- Event Coordination: Organise and execute media, political, and community events that showcase Bus Éireann’s initiatives and successes.
Qualifications & Experience:
- A degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
- Relevant experience in corporate communications or a similar role.
- Membership in a relevant professional body is a plus.
