Bus Éireann, in partnership with the National Transport Authority, is recruiting an Independent Travel Support, Travel Assistant to join in Athlone. Reporting to the Accessibility Manager, the role supports people with disabilities in learning how to use public transport safely and confidently. Working closely with internal teams, external agencies and service users, the Travel Assistant provides practical guidance, journey planning support and travel training.

This position plays a vital role in promoting independence, inclusion and equal access to public transport. Garda Vetting will be required.

Requirements:

Experience: Minimum two years working with individuals with additional needs or in Social Care.

Knowledge: Awareness of disability-related issues.

Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, fluency in English, and adaptability to outdoor work.

Garda vetting will form part of the selection process.
