Training Supervisor Relief Panel - Eastern Region
Bus Éireann is inviting applications from suitably qualified and motivated staff members who wish to be considered for inclusion on the Training Supervisor Relief Panel – Eastern Region.
Eligibility Criteria:
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Currently hold Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) status, or
- Have commenced the ADI qualification process, or
- Be willing and committed to completing the ADI qualification process.
Applicants must also have:
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience holding a Category D license.
- A minimum of 2 years’ operational driving experience with Bus Éireann.
The Training Supervisor Panel will play a pivotal leadership role in ensuring Bus Éireann meets all statutory, regulatory, and company training requirements under relevant EU Directives, national legislation, and industry standards. Based in Broadstone covering the Eastern Region, this role is responsible for overseeing, delivering, and continuously improving driver training and development across the network.
This initiative establishes a Training Supervisor Relief Panel to identify and develop suitable internal candidates who can support training operations when required and build future training capability within the organisation.
You will help to uphold and enhance Bus Éireann’s reputation for excellence by ensuring our drivers are trained, confident, and compliant. You will lead by example in promoting the highest standards of safety, professionalism, and customer service. Acting as both a trainer and a supervisor, you will assess and develop driving performance, deliver induction and refresher training, and ensure all activities align with Bus Éireann’s operational and strategic objectives.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Applicants should be able to demonstrate:
- A strong commitment to road safety, professional driving standards, and operational excellence.
- An ability to coach, mentor, and support drivers in developing safe driving behaviours.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide constructive feedback.
- An understanding of the importance of Human Factors in transport safety, including how attitudes, decision-making, behaviour, fatigue, communication, and situational awareness influence driver performance.
- An interest in applying Human Factors principles to driver training and development.
- The ability to create a positive learning environment that encourages safe behaviours and continuous improvement.
